Computational equivalence between Cox’s and the auxiliary Poisson model

Abstract: in his talk, Andrea shows under which conditions the Poisson model is computationally equivalent to the Cox proportional-hazards model and why this equivalence holds. This result is illustrated using data from a randomised clinical trial on survival in patients diagnosed with metastatic renal carcinoma.

About the speaker: Andrea works as biostatistician at Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm, focusing on the design and analysis of traditional and adaptive platform clinical trials. He holds a PhD in Medical Sciences from the same university.
